Unai Emery hailed ‘big talent’ Mesut Ozil and confirmed that he wants to work with the midfielder in his opening press conference as Arsenal’s head coach.
The Gunners named Emery as Arsene Wenger’s successor on Wednesday morning and the 46-year-old Spaniard is looking forward imposing his style on the club.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of potential targets ahead of the 2018/19 campaign but Emery insists he is impressed with the players he has inherited.
Chelsea transfer talk Ozil, who signed a new deal at the Emirates in February, is the club’s most high-profile player and Emery hopes to speak with the German in the near future.
Asked about Ozil’s role, Emery told the media: ‘He’s one of biggest talents here at Arsenal and I want talented players re.
He Said ‘I want to spend time here with him and all players. I want to speak to them about how inspired and excited I am to be here.
‘Above all I think this is a wonderful project and we all must give 100 per cent – I expect that from players and myself.’
